H.O.M.E. has established this program to train, build and send hundreds of Arab, Christian physicians and healthcare professionals on how to share the love of God at the bedside.
H.O.M.E. has initiated through the leadership of Dr. Maher Samuel, an expert psychiatrist and dynamic evangelist in the Middle East, a program that entails training thousands of Arab, Christian physicians and healthcare professionals on how to unveil the love of God at the bedside.
In addition, H.O.M.E. founded the School for Medical Missions in May 2011 at the Harpur Missionary Hospital in Egypt where approximately four (4) dedicated Christian physicians are trained for 3-6 months in tropical diseases and how to make a successful medical mission. Upon graduation, these physicians are sent from Egypt to serve for a year or more in other Arab countries such as Jordan, North Africa, Sudan, and Yemen. After that year is complete, they are sent off for at least two years to work outside of Egypt anywhere in the Middle East.
Christian physicians and nurses are often very skilled as far as their medical training but have little training in how to provide Christ-like care with a commitment to love the sick patient as oneself. Dr. Samuel along with the H.O.M.E. team have trained hundreds of Arab, Christian physicians in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria on how to build relationship and provide patients with the spiritual Cure in addition to the medical cure. This holistic approach deals with the whole person and takes spiritual history in a culture sensitive manner through a loving, caring, Christ-like heart. Many Arab, Christian physicians, pharmacists, nurses, as well as other healthcare professionals who completed the training committed themselves to “go”, as it says in Mark 16:15, in order to serve Him through H.O.M.E. in other countries or in rural areas, realizing the privilege and joy of sharing and living His amazing love.
Like Antioch, H.O.M.E. has been transformed by the Lord through this program and others to become a sending agency of caring, Arabic healthcare professionals who reach out to their own, beloved people with the Cure of His eternal grace and love.
